Amsterdam Squares

Composition made up of 12 5×5 inch canvases. Each canvas was hand painted and involve image transfers from photographs I took while in Amsterdam. The idea behind this composition is a story line of a new traveler, experiencing a foreign city for the first time. The photos start by trying to capture all of the city at once, and while the traveler spends more time in this new place, photos began to capture the little things that make the city so beautiful. These images overlap, creating an overall understanding of the traveler absorbing their surroundings.

Passport Magazine

Hypothetical travel magazine targeted to young adults traveling on a budget. The magazine focuses on issues its readers would be interested in, such as local hot spots, affordable dining, what to wear, and so on. This issue in particular is a winter edition highlighting Amsterdam and Paris. The main cover story describes celebrating New Years Eve in Amsterdam, and supporting stories discuss visiting both cities in one trip, how to handle the cold, and the best places to be when you’re young and looking for fun.

Magazine created in InDesign. Masthead created in Illustrator by altering a font. All photos were taken by me on my own trip to Amsterdam and Paris.

Layered Painting

Each layer is created by repeating a single “abstract” symbol representing a specific idea. All together these symbols associate with the main theme, and layered within this painting is that theme. The final composition reveals the layering process, and connects the ideas resulting in the development of the theme. For this painting the theme I chose to develop was the tangible desires of Marie Antoinette.

Sanford Farmers Market

I created a poster advertising the downtown Sanford Farmers Market that takes place every Saturday in Magnolia Square. There is a large antique clock that has been there since the city was built, making it the symbol for downtown Sanford. I sketched the clock and various veggies and fruits to make a classy and sophisticated ad for a good old fashion farmers market!

This beautiful budget-conscious wedding took place at Disney’s Swan and Dolphin hotel in Orlando, Florida. The Louisiana couple decided on a destination wedding and invited their closest friends and relatives. Hints of Disney magic were sprinkled throughout, such as the bride’s Cinderella-inspired hair and cake topper. The couple was provided with all day coverage and a disc with all photos taken. A selection of black and white retouched images were also provided.

An invitation, RSVP card, and program designed for a Seminole County School counselor retirement party. The program was requested to match the party theme of pink and green.

2008 Yearbook for Crooms Academy of Information Technology*, published by Herff Jones. I designed every aspect from the conceptual stage to the final product, including theme, consistent visual elements, cover, end-sheets, and all layouts. The large majority of photos in the layouts featured below were also taken by me.
