Haagen-Dazs Stockholders Gift

Design Challenge

The brand Haagen-Dazs is in need of a holiday gift to promote continued support from their major stockholders. The gift will be centered around the unique flavors, all natural ingredients, and honey bee awareness efforts that set Haagen-Dazs apart from its competitors. Inspirational cards will be creatively displayed to promote the company in an interactive way. A gift box will be designed and constructed to connect the flair of Haagen-Dazs with their environmental efforts. Inside the box a series of inspirational cards will be displayed, identifying key Haagen-Dazs flavors and ingredients that rely on honey bee pollination. The cards will showcase the unique qualities that make Haagen-Dazs one of the leading brands of frozen treats, and highlight the legacy of the brand to promote the continued support Haagen-Dazs is seeking from its
stockholders.

Design Objective

As a luxery ice cream brand, it is important to promote the legacy of Haagen-Dazs and it’s commitment to pure key ingredients. The gift is designed to highlight these principles, as well as remind stockholder’s of the successful environmental efforts led by Haagen-Dasz for “Help the Honey Bees”. Haagen-Dazs implemented this campaign with great success and environmentalism continues to be popular among consumers.

Passport Magazine

Hypothetical travel magazine targeted to young adults traveling on a budget. The magazine focuses on issues its readers would be interested in, such as local hot spots, affordable dining, what to wear, and so on. This issue in particular is a winter edition highlighting Amsterdam and Paris. The main cover story describes celebrating New Years Eve in Amsterdam, and supporting stories discuss visiting both cities in one trip, how to handle the cold, and the best places to be when you’re young and looking for fun.

Magazine created in InDesign. Masthead created in Illustrator by altering a font. All photos were taken by me on my own trip to Amsterdam and Paris.

Sanford Farmers Market

I created a poster advertising the downtown Sanford Farmers Market that takes place every Saturday in Magnolia Square. There is a large antique clock that has been there since the city was built, making it the symbol for downtown Sanford. I sketched the clock and various veggies and fruits to make a classy and sophisticated ad for a good old fashion farmers market!

Flagler Summer School Courses

Poster designed to display the 2010 summer school courses offered in the Flagler art department. Posted throughout the department.

Party Stationary

An invitation, RSVP card, and program designed for a Seminole County School counselor retirement party. The program was requested to match the party theme of pink and green.

2008 Yearbook

2008 Yearbook for Crooms Academy of Information Technology*, published by Herff Jones. I designed every aspect from the conceptual stage to the final product, including theme, consistent visual elements, cover, end-sheets, and all layouts. The large majority of photos in the layouts featured below were also taken by me.

My partner and I created a full page article highlighting Crooms Academy of Information Technology. Crooms is a magnet school admired by Seminole County, Florida, and sought after by parents, students, and teachers. The article featured significant events from 2008, information on the yearbook, and a list of scheduled campus tours. I was responsible for layout and photography.
